The ArtsCenter (Carrboro, NC) – Saturday, September 26 at 8pm - $7 ticket for 7 of the Liminal Festival acts, back to back, in both theatres. It’s an extravaganza of art and music on the edge!  Doors at 7pm, and the show starts at 8pm sharp, with:

Organos – Maria Albani (Pleasant, Schooner, etc.)’s solo project making its LIVE DEBUT.

Bee vs. Moth – Traveling all the way from Austin, Texas for this festival, Bee vs. Moth is an instrumental jazz/art/rock band, and was selected through sonicbids.com!

Billy Sugarfix – Theremin, loop pedals, songs about giant hummingbirds, masks.  You know the drill. Not to be missed.

Make a Rising – Touring down from Philadelphia, Make a Rising’s lush prog pop orchestrations will be matched by some elaborate costuming and live antics.

Felix Obelix – Avant-pop that even arts councils can get behind.  FO is curating the Liminal Festival.

Wes Phillips – It’s Phillips, ya’ll, Wes Phillips ya’ll. He’s playing with a full band this time too. 

INVISIBLE: Rhythm 1001, the analog drum machine art/sound piece will be installed in the gallery of the ArtsCenter for the duration of the night and will play sets between the theatre performances.

There will also be liminal baked goods for sale, and attendees are invited to bring stories of liminal times in their lives, to be written on a gigantic mural, for the enlightenment of all.  Yes.  Together, we can do this.  What is liminality? – visit here.

Carrboro Century Center (Carrboro, NC) – Friday, September 25 at 5pm - free and open to the public, featuring  the chamber-folk trio, Billy Sugarfix and the Passwords. If you have a community group, after-school program or other special population that you would like to have attend this free performance, please email Wendy at felixobelix AT gmail DOT com to make arrangements.  This is an opportunity to bring people on the liminal fringes of our community together for a performance of fun and interesting music! (NB: The Lisps have cancelled)

Ronald McDonald House/SECU Family House (Chapel Hill, NC) – Thursday, September 24 (outreach performance for patients and families of patients being treated at UNC Hospitals. Due to health concerns of the attendees, this event is not open to the public). Performing will be Reid Johnson of Schooner and Jay Cartwright, of the accordion.
