Seeking One More Artist/Band via Sonicbids…

I am seeking one more musician/artist/band to perform at the Liminal Festival, happening Sept. 24-26, 2009 in the greater Chapel Hill area.  I’m cognizant that while I personally know many musicians working in cross-genre experimentation, there are probably many, many more whom I don’t know.  So I’ve set up a listing on Sonicbids.com to solicit for this last spot.  The Sonicbids EPK (Electronic Press Kit) is an easy-to-use, web-based graphic interface that contains all the basic information of a musical act, and artists can submit to events like the Liminal Festival through a virtual “Drop Box”.  If you are interested in this slot, are not yet a Sonicbids member and want to submit online, visit http://www.sonicbids.com/liminalfestival and sign-up for the Sonicbids Combo Package.  If you are already a Sonicbids member, log in to your account and visit the Promoter Drop Box to submit. Or, click on this Sonicbids.com logo below:Liminal Festival 2009 Submissions on Sonicbids

I keenly remember my first forays into booking, when no one would give me the time of day.  I’m hoping that this sonicbids.com call for submissions will be a way to even the playing field, so someone from out of town who might not otherwise get a show in Chapel Hill on a Saturday, or else someone just starting out locally, can play to a receptive audience.  I’m aware too, that people experimenting outside the norms of rock shows, have sometimes an even harder time making inroads in terms of booking. I’m also aware that this might solicit a great band that IS far along in their own career.  The great leveler of sonicbids though, is that the electronic press kits that I’ll be viewing are all basically formatted the same – no one’s is noticeably flashier than anyone else’s.  I’ll be listening to the music first, even before reading the bios and press.  I want the process to be fair.  So…submit!
